seriously? no one has posted on may 14, 2011? happy One Year Anniversary of Separation (uh, I mean, graduation?). we survived, i think! way to go, everyone.
i just returned from 3 1/2 of the most insane weeks of my life:
- making huge life decisions
- having culture shock walking into a grocery store in the capitol
- a 9-hour train ride turning into an 18-hour train ride. note: trains in africa SUCK
- climbing mountains, staring at the milky way every night, and living out of a backpack
- two friends getting stranded in the second largest canyon in the world because nam decided to release the dam without thinking of them. uhhh, TIA like whoa.
- spending the exact same time frame of beach week 2010 at a beach town in nam. except that instead of 50 of my dearest friends spending hours upon hours lazing on the beach with delicious drinks and good music, i hitchhiked to the town and spent the week exploring alone. and despite the ocean being right there, it was too cold to partake in (eg: penguins live there)
- visiting a ghost town in the middle of the freaking desert
- scaling the world's largest sand dunes
- eating zebra, springbok, gemsbok, ostrich, and oryx...and joining the clean plate club every night!
wow. may14 2010-may14 2011 has been an ADVENTURE. hope it has been for you, too!
