as ben rector would say:

get me back to nashville, tennessee.

i'm missing out on homecoming this weekend, but my heart is always warmed by thinking of you guys and imagining a day when we'll all be together again. i hope it's as wonderful as you are hoping it will be and exactly what you need.

i'm still here in DC with lucas, still working for this guy. i am blessed beyond belief every day to serve in this role, even as it wears on me, and i'm very excited about my future and the opportunities that i'll have to continue to work myself to death in the coming year or two. i have fantastic coworkers and mentors and am slowly making friends here, but nothing compares to that wonderful feeling when i see one of your names pop up on caller id. thankful to have you all (virtually) by my side as we go through this hysterical struggle of holding down a job and navigating life, filled with its laundromat mishaps and awful first dates and ladies on buses asking you if you are having a boy or girl. (answer: a boy!) (just kidding - i've managed to stay pregnancy free in dc.) (i hope!)

come to visit sometime! if you're lucky (and give me your ssn), i can take you to where i work a couple days a week:

and we can watch the sunset in this crazy city of mine:

miss you all and see you soon, but not as soon as i would like.
