nashville, nashville take me in

greetings from NASHVILLE. i'm sitting in fido right now with a dear suitemate of mine. you know that fido smell? feels like home to me. what a whirlwind past few weeks it's been. let me show you in pictures!

a few weekends ago, after a plan to travel to memphis was averted, i spent the day hiking in beautiful starved rock state park in il. did you know there are HUGE beautiful canyons in illinois? i bet you thought it was all corn fields...

what a sweet time it was to reflect and enjoy the outdoors

the next weekend, my best friend from birth had his wedding reception in chicago. i think the weirdest marriages are the ones of people you've known that long. it was fun and funny (and vegas-themed...).

camp ended on friday. it was a crazy summer, but despite the exhaustion and frustration with a rowdy group of kiddos, i really came to appreciate it these past two weeks. i was fortunate to have an incredible staff this year who were supportive, enthusiastic, and provided for great friends in suburbia. working at a day camp is truly the best job you could have - getting paid to work half a day, play with kids, and go on awesome field trips? nothing better.

immediately following camp on friday, i jumped in the car and drove to nashville to surprise our very own kathleen fuchs for her 22nd birthday. it was DELIGHTFUL!

will you judge me if i admit that tears came to my eyes as i rounded the bend on i-24 and saw the skyline? or that my legs were shaking like crazy because i was so overwhelmed with joy upon seeing so many sweet friends that night? i can't wipe this smile from my face - thanks for being born, fuchs!

post-grad life is certainly uncertain. i'm a nomad in nashville right now with no definite timeline. i've been learning to let go of plans, since all mine keep failing. options are lining up for the fall. rwanda is a no-go and africa is as uncertain as ever...

but my heart is full...full as it's been in a long, long time.
