lessons learned (top 3):

1. if you're doubting God is the creator of the heavens, the earth, all people, and EVERYTHING, go kayaking at 3:00 AM. He doesn't disappoint.

2. don't hop onto the back of a dominican man's motorcycle trusting he will take you where you want to go. he might, but its just not worth the risk.

3. there is HOPE amidst destruction and chaos. (re: Haiti)

for those of you i've failed to be good at keeping in touch with (yikes... most.... sorry), I had the opportunity to go on a bit of an adventure throughout the month of july. my friend from high school kim and i spent some time on a sailboat, in haiti and the dominican republic. it was... everything. and i mean that in the sense that there is absolutely not one word, or several hundred, to describe the trip. hence feeling every emotion possible.

we got back safely at the end of July, but due to the craziness involved with recovering from a bout of "traveler's bug," moving to a new city, and figuring out what it means that there is no "welcome to memphis" orientation session for me to attend, I'm just now getting my pictures on my computer.

hopefully that's the most I'll ever write in one of these posts... from here on out, I'll let the pictures do the talking for me.

to all of you who are good at formatting pictures and making them look "cool" on blogs, I now have new found respect for you.

still in the midst of transition here in memphis, waiting to move into a house and trying to figure out what it means to "start over." know a lot of y'all are in that too, and am so grateful for each and every one of you.

here's to embracing transition. and trusting even when doubting like a really good idea.
